Sustainably sourced wood

At Puumerkki, we want to ensure that information about the sustainable origin of wood is also conveyed to our customers.

98% of the products sold by Puumerkki are wood-based products: timber and and its processed products, like wood panels, doors, and windows. As an expert in the trade of wood-based building materials and a producer of many different product and service concepts and solutions, Puumerkki can, together with its customers and suppliers, significantly influence the implementation of sustainable development principles.

We know exactly where our wood comes from – and so can you. All our timber meets the strict requirements of EU and national legislation, and every product we offer is sourced from responsibly managed forests. When you choose Puumerkki’s wood products, you choose materials that support green building standards like BREEAM, Nordic Swan Ecolabel, and PEFC.

Certified leadership

We’ve always believed that responsibility means leading by example. Puumerkki is a pioneer in certification, with operations verified annually by Det Norske Veritas (DNV).As a recognition of our commitment to responsibility and ecological values, we were the first wood products wholesaler chain in Finland to receive the PEFC™ certificate in 2012 and the FSC® certificate in 2013.
