Puumerkki ensures the responsible origin of its wood products through a certified Chain of Custody system. PEFC and FSC® certifications provide transparency and allow customers to make confident, sustainable material sourcing decisions.

As a demonstration of our commitment to responsibility and ecological values, Puumerkki Oy has a chain of custody system for wood-based materials, certified under both PEFC and FSC® as a multi-site certificates in collaboration with Puumerkki AS and Puumerkki SIA operating in the Baltic countries.

PEFC Certification

PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) is the world’s largest forest certification system, ensuring that timber and forest-based products originate from responsibly managed forests. It promotes sustainable forest management by safeguarding biodiversity, protecting workers’ rights, and supporting the well-being of local communities.

FSC certification

FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) is an international non-profit organization that develops and manages a certification system for responsible, environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial, and economically viable forest management and forest products. The FSC certification and its well-known logo indicate that a product comes from forests managed in accordance with these strict sustainability principles.

Wood origin and certification – making responsibility visible to customers
